Our bodies are compromised of various types of hormones that each has a specific function. When one of these hormones is overly produced or not being produced enough it can lead to many problems. Lets take a look at some of the hormonal imbalance effects that your child can be dealing with. The over production of testosterone in a young girl can create extra growth of hair. This can be devastating a girl of just about any age, and this is only one type of female hormonal imbalance there are many others.

It Is Always Tough to Select How to Pick Best and Comfortable Pram, Pushchair or Push Chair for Your Baby

Filed under: Kids — admin @ 12:09 am

So you have discovered that you will soon need a baby pushchair, stroller, or pram, and the massive selection to choose from has already hit you or will soon. With such a wide variety on offer, it has become so daunting to choose the ideal baby pushchair.

You need to understand that, if this is the first time you are having a baby, everything is a lot more complex, because it will all be new to you.

Various parents dash out and buy a pushchair, only to later determine that they should have bought a pram instead, which may only seem obvious to some. The one major decision is how young the baby is at the current time.

A pram is generally a better alternative to a a stroller, as new-borns will need to lie down. What is your main reason for buying a pram or push car? You need to think about the usage for your pram, is it for special occasions or holidays, or do you want to be able to use it each day? Light weight strollers are suitable for holiday, but not home. So to save buy a complete travel system.

You will learn when you shop at different locations that price depends on brand, how much money you are willing to spend will be a major factor in your decision. For more info about baby stroller and the difference a good designer can make check out our website.

Plenty of durable push chairs are priced reasonably, but there are also some designer brands that stand out in the pricing arena. But, as long as you are a smart shopper and look carefully, you will end up with push chair that will last for a very long time, and so be worth the money spent on it in the end. It’s important to compare prices before purchasing.

Don’t forget, you are going to be using this pushchair for several years so make sure it is something that you’d like to be seen with everyday. With the variety now available to choose from you must decide if you are looking for a rugged all terrain 3-wheeler, or perhaps a contemporary in either a 3 or 4 wheeler will suffice.

Baby Food

Filed under: Help + Advice, Kids — admin @ 9:34 pm

When you are a dad like us, there are so many things that you have to look forward too. One of which id the chance to eventually feed your little monster some real, tasty food. Unfortunately you will have to wait until about a year or so. If your baby is breastfeeding, milk will be her only diet for about six months or so. The breast milk has all the nutrients that the baby needs and is also the perfect super food. There is no substitute for breast milk and there is also nothing better for the baby than her moms own milk. It is absolute the perfect food. But eventually, when the doctor says that its time for some real food. The first thing that she will eat, is the rice coral. Kind of like cream of wheat, but its made with breast milk, and is lots thinner. After a few weeks to a month, you can move to the stage one foods. Stage one foods are just what it sounds like. Vegetables that are purred and soft. Carrots, applesauce, bananas, peas, prunes and squash are examples of this food group. Then is stage two, which is more vegetables and lots of fruits, grains and rice. Along at about seven to eight months you can introduce the purred meats. This three coarse meal a jar. To me this stuff smell worse than dog food. I tasted it and it stats like ground up spam. It seems like it has some kind of spice to it. Nasty, but if your kid likes it, give it to them. I think that its important to have your kid eating as many different kinds of foods a possible. Once the baby starts to get some teeth, you can get some stuff like puffs, which are basically puffed rice snacks. They dissolve really easily, so that the kid wont choke on the stuff. This is the first of the finger foods. Babies will find much joy in feeding themselves.

Sugar Glider Lingo

Filed under: Animal Fun, Fun On The Net, Kids — admin @ 7:59 am

As you may know already, sugar gliders have a wide variety of sounds they make. Four distinct sounds to be exact, and to a new parent they may be foreign. Do not worry, because we are going to take the time now and explain a little bit about each sound and its possible meaning.

The very first sound your sugar glider will probably make is crabbing. You probably heard this noise when you first brought them home. They make this sound out of stress and nervousness, and being in a new environment with new people is enough to make anyone nervous.

You might catch yourself blaming their next noise on the dog. Yes, you heard me correctly, the dog. Unbelievably your little pocket pets bark, but do not worry, it is a lot worse than its bite. Gliders bark for a couple of reasons. One reason is if a new person or animal makes itself visible to your little friend. Gliders also bark to get another gliders or even your attention. If you have more than one glider, you might get caught in the middle of a barking melody.

The next sound you may hear out of your glider’s little mouth may be the most soothing sound a glider can make. These sounds are chirping or chattering. It is actually more of a purring sound as a cat would make and we all know how soothing that can be sometimes. This sound can be translated as your glider being calm, comfortable, and letting you know he has grown fond of you.

The last sound you will probably hear is hissing. As aggressive as it may sound, that is not exactly what it means. Gliders may hiss when introduced to a new glider, but they also make this sound when they are wrestling around or even grooming themselves.

Helpful Tips - from Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, Teething, Colic, Sleep and Bonding with your Baby

Filed under: Kids — admin @ 9:58 pm

Pregnancy

Indigestion is often a problem, later on in pregnancy.

Eat little and often. Make sure if you are going out that you have food at hand. For example, sunflower seeds or dried apricots, easy to carry around and very good for you.

Water - Drink plenty of water throughout the pregnancy.

Exercise - As much walking as you can take. During the final trimester it is very important. Bending down can cause acid to rise, so it is better to bend from the knee, again this would be during the final trimester.

Relax

Playing relaxation music during the pregnancy. Dr. Alexandra Lamont, a psychologist who specialises in music and the effect it has on the unborn child has noted that calming music playing during pregnancy will be recognised by your baby, who will again calm down on hearing it. Therefore, relaxing music that you play while you are pregnant has the effect of not only relaxing you and your baby in the womb, but with repeated listening your baby will feel calm and relaxed whenever you play this music.

Teething Baby

Irritable. Contraditory - wants something, then doesn’t want it. Likes being carried. Homeopathic remedy: Chamomilla
Also if stool tends to be greenish, think of Chamomilla. Teething will often affect the whole digestive system, causing diarrhoea. Another symtom is one cheek red, the other white.

Red, hot, flushed face, cold hands and feet. Very upset baby. Homeopathic remedy: Belladonna

[Mucus - Babies sometimes appear to be pulling on one ear or another during teething. This can be because of a build-up of mucus, which often accompanies teething.]

Colic

Chamomilla - Extremely irritable. Nothing satisfies the baby, except to be carried.
Colic often accompanies teething.

Pulsatilla - Colic after mother has eaten rich foods (only affects baby is mother is breastfeeding)

Colocynth - Extreme colic. Baby keeps bring knees up to abdomen. Massaging the tummy helps.
[Homeopathic remedies should be in the 30c potency. They can be purchased in most chemists. Follow instructions on the container.]

If colic has been a problem since birth, you might consider going to a Cranial Osteopath. This is a very gentle form of osteopathy, particularly suitable for babies.

Bonding with your baby

Massage - Find time each morning when you can snuggle up to each other. Massaging your baby can be very relaxing, especially if your baby’s tummy is tense after feeding. Be very gentle.

Bathing your baby - you can get in the bath with your baby, it could be fun!

Breastfeeding

Cracked nipples - One of the problems with breastfeeding can be cracked nipples. Calendula cream on the nipples will help. Simply wipe off just before breastfeeding.

Tension - If your baby is restless, or you are tense during breastfeeding - play Calmtime. This should help you both and will serve as a trigger for relaxation whenever it is time to feed.

Sleep

Bad habits - Whilst having your baby in bed with you during the early days can be comforting, to continue the habit would be a mistake. Babies then get used to the warmth of another body and will continually want this. The best thing to do is after your baby is fast asleep, take him/her back to their own bed.

Relaxation - Again, Calmtime can help soothe your baby to sleep.

Saving the babies stem cells - stemcellstorage.org.uk

Filed under: Big Medicine, Health Issues, Kids — admin @ 11:13 am

The method know as three dimensional ultrasound is that can be used when a woman is in early pregnancy, it can provide 3d pictures of the unborn child. Most of the time these ultrasound samples are collected and combined to produce a 4d scan.

Three dimensional scanning works in the same way to the usual scanning methods except that the ultrasound scanning waves can be sent from many directions. The ultrasound waves are redirected back and captured and provide information to construct a 3-dimensional picture in very much the same way as 3d movies. 3 dimesional ultrasound was devised by olaf ramm abs stephen smith.

It is important to understand that sonologists all over the world always pictured 3d pictures of the body in their minds while carrying out 2d scans. However, until recently it was almost impossibel to do this type of reconstruction on on data using ultrasound. With the introduction of baby scans for the first time allowed us a peek into the mechanics of thinking of a sonologist and hence letting us see the images on the ultrasound machine.

3d imaging should utilize ultrasound energy following the same limits as conventional 2d ultrasound to create the 3d images. There is no data to suggest harm due to 3d ultrasound, its use in non-medical situations needs to be undertaken with an understanding of the risks involved.

Also remember, store your new born babies umbilical cord blood by involving such as futurehealth.
