It is widely considered that Germans originated the tradition of an inside Christmas tree in the 16th century, and Protestant reformer, Martin Luther, was the first make it radiate. Households remember their ancestors as they place heirloom ornaments on the Christmas tree. Every December, 33 million evergreen trees are hauled from crisp fields and forests into homes across the country, where they will be changed into one of the most lasting symbols of the holiday time of year - the Christmas tree.
Searching for eco-friendly Christmas party ideas? We have tons of tips to make this occasion time of year a good one for you, and the planet. Whip up a couple of batches of eggnog to relish as you adorn the branches of your evergreen, possibly singing some Christmas carols together.

Who tells romance is merely for 2? Host an smooth dinner with a menu (French-inspired, of course) that is perfect for an intimate celebration of four or more. If you want your dinner party to be truly unforgettable, recreate an fine (but fabulous) epicurean menu that’s right out of a famous person chef’s kitchen.
Utilize natural, green decor by getting a trip to your local park or forest. Collect pinecones, acorns, fallen birch branches, flexible willow branches, smooth river rocks, moss and leaves. Instantly you are prepared to make a lovely nature-inspired centerpiece to match the party ideas. Put birch branches in a tall vase in the middle of a table for a stylish, substantial centrepiece. Or, hollow out a segment in the middle of a thick piece of birch and stuff the hole with floral foam. Produce a floral bouquet by placing short, trimmed flower stalks into the floral foam until you have a round-shaped bouquet.
For a formalized dinner with many invitees, consider taking RSVP cards as part of the invitation. It helps set the conventional ambiance for the dinner party, and gives you more fanciful possibilities for the invitation plan.
RSVP cards likewise work well when you want to give guests a selection of entrees, for instance, allow them to select between a steak entree and a fish entree.

If you too like me hate acquiring a caterer and hate making sure that what they are cooking is exactly what you want, then there is another simpler and more majestic way of catering. It’s not a fresh way in fact it’s over five hundred years old and in my judgement is the easiest way to feed hundreds of hungry people. Having a hog roast. In England hog roasts have been a popular way of catering large parties or events for a very long time. Considering what you actually get when you have a hog roast for what you pay it is amazing, it is also alot less formal than many other catering techniques and therefore is a wonderful option. The matters you will need for a hog roast include all the cooking equipment and a chef for the day, the animal you want to roast and all the needed side dishes and sauces, usually a hog roasting company will be able to offer you this complete service. I discovered the company that I used on the internet and they were very honest, they turned up at my house in more than enough time to cook the hog ready for when I wanted to eat, they made sure I got everything I could perhaps require and were really good at carving the meat and serving my guests. I hope that the next time you have a party or event that you will think of having a hog roast.

Takumi is the place to visit if you are in the mood for a culinary masterpiece. This Melbourne Japanese restaurant is the best of its kind. The food is top notch and the design and ambiance of the restaurant is relaxing.
Being the only Japanese restaurant in Melbourne that serves Wagyu beef, you can rest assure that it will be tremendous. Wagyu is a premium grade cut of beef that is second to none. It is tender and juicy it melts in your mouth. You can get this beef prepared in multiple styles. Many people enjoy it as a burger, grilled and marinated with Sukiyaki sauce. If you do not fancy having burgers, order the Wagyu Yakiniku lunch set. The beef is served raw and is cooked on a smokeless grill. It is also served with vegetables and a complimentary glass of beer or wine. Not only does this taste delicious, but being able prepare it yourself is an great experience.
This Japanese restaurant may specialize in Wagyu beef, but that is not the only tasty delicacy it has to offer. A bento box is also a fun way to enjoy your lunch. The restaurant offers a few options on the main entree for the bento box. A favorite Japanese dish is Gyoza. These pan fried dumplings are exceedingly good and addictive. One is certainly not enough. If you like something different, give the Unagi bento Box a try. Unagi is smoked grilled eel and is a very popular and delicious Japanese restaurant dish.
The decoration and lighting of the restaurant has a very zen-like feel. It is relaxing and inviting which makes you feel like you are right at home. The sleek tan chairs and subtle ornaments have a calming affect and lets you to feel like you are having a quiet meal at home, even though you are in the presence of other patrons.
Overall, Takumi is a tremendous Japanese restaurant. From their delicious menu offerings, to the many different Sake choices, this Melbourne Japanese restaurant is number one on my book.

Due to the high popularity of online diets in general, today even people who suffer from diabetes look for diabetic diets online. You may think that diabetic diets should be treated more seriously that just weight loss diets and looking for them online is a thoughtless action because it could be too dangerous. It is not so.
Online diets for diabetics are proposed by people who either have professional skills in diabetes treatment or by those who are diabetic and have already tried this diet by themselves.
Looking for a diabetic diet online is not a thoughtless action, but following it without prior consultation with your doctor is surely thoughtless (please, don’t take offence). Every online diet for diabetics has to be under strict control of a professional.
All diets (including diabetic ones) can have different influence on body condition. And online diets’ authors commonly warn about this and strongly recommend to consult with your doctor first. Though, some of online diets offer online consultations with professional dietitians.
The main aim of online diets for diabetics is to help those people control or lessen their blood sugar level. This criterion is vital for them.
Thanks to online diets thousands of people start a new life or come back to the way of life they got used to before the disease.

Diet Meal Planning is a great way to lose weight and get the proper nutrition so the body functions better. A Diet Meal Plan sets out the schedule of meals for the week or ten days, and allows for time to create well balanced and properly proportioned servings.
The Key to success in any endeavor is proper planning and action steps to reach that plan. So Diet Meal Planning is a great way to set calorie goals for the week and to set guidelines for consumption. The best way to accomplish this is to grab a notebook and write down the kinds of foods you like to eat. Diet has almost become a “four letter word” in today’s vocabulary, but it doesn’t have to be bad. List all of your favorite foods. Then spend some time researching how to make low calorie versions of those same foods. Often you will find that simple substitutions can be made that will allow you to enjoy your fave’s and still control the calories.
Many times people get stuck in an eating rut, going with the most convenient and usually bad for you food choices. By building a well balanced diet meal plan, you can identify the areas where you are repeating and make changes to introduce new food. For example, let’s say Tuesday is spaghetti night; diet meal planning would put that on the schedule and you could try ground turkey instead of beef, larger salad portions, and an alternative to giant slices of garlic bread (garlic knots?!).
Diet Meal planning that is written and carefully followed can help promote and speed up weight loss by using food as a fuel instead of just grabbing whatever you can eat when you’re hungry. Fruit and vegetables are possibly to eliminate the risk of many diseases like cancer, particularly those associated with the digestive system like stomach cancers, mouth cancers and foodpipe cancers. However, they are not likely to reduce the risk of cancers that are associated with hormonal causes like prostate cancer or breast cancer. Experts on diet and nutrition such as Gillian McKeith recommend eating fruits and vegetables that are high in nutrients and that are a rich source of fiber. Many fiber rich vegetables help reduce the risk of cancer, high cholesterol, and also can help to control glucose levels. If a person includes fruits and vegetables in his daily diet it can have many positive effects. These foods contain phytochecimals and antioxidants which help to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
To increase the more benefits from fruit you can eat it fresh even fruit juice or dry fruit can be consumed to gain additional benefits. Fruits are fleshy, edible portion of a plant and sweet that contains seeds. They are normally eaten raw even though some of them are cooked. Fruits are available in wide variety of shapes, flavors and colors. Some of the most common fruits that are available in the market include apples, pears, limes, mandarins, plums, apricots, mangoes, banana, strawberry, kiwifruit, watermelon, avocados and peaches.
Vegetables are frequently cooked even though most of then are eaten raw. Vegetables are also available in the variety of colors, shapes and groups which include leafy green spinach, lettuce, cabbage, sprouts, cauliflower, cucumber, pumpkin, potato, asparagus, onion, shallot, sweet potato and zucchini. These fruits and vegetable are normally plant chemicals, minerals, vitamins and fiber. A daily diet which is rich in fruit and vegetables usually protects you against heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

The link between food and health is often forgotten and the wonderful part about adding garlic to your food is it is so flavorful you forget it has preventative disease and medicinal healing properties.
Garlic is one of the best sources of selenium, a nutrient noted by cancer researchers for its powerful antioxidant properties. From curing colds, and fighting cholesterol to cleansing toxins from your body; is it any wonder it is considered a miracle food? To learn more about it’s medicinal properties I recommend reading, Garlic the Miracle Food by Dr. Pavlov.
Add Garlic to your food everyday - yes every day. Sound like a lot? You won’t think so once you discover a few favorite recipes. With these tips and ideas you will find yourself roasting garlic, adding it to cooked and non-cooked meals and yikes, even eating it raw!
Worried about smelling of garlic? Although people who eat garlic on a regular basis do not reek of it, after a meal of eating it raw you will have garlic breath. To relieve garlic breath, chew on a sprig of parsley. If you are worried, stick to cooked garlic or garlic capsules.
Over the years I’ve discovered a variety of ways to use garlic in my daily meals, and have converted many people to the wonders of garlic as well. These ideas will turn your meals into tasty delights and gourmet dishes. If you are unaccustomed to garlic, start with smaller amounts until your taste buds get used to the new flavor.
Roasted Garlic
Excellent as a side dish served with a pepper jelly and added to recipes roasted garlic has become one of my gourmet favorites.
How to make it:
Cut off the top of the garlic bulb, exposing the flesh of each clove.
Pour 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil over the cloves.
Wrap in foil and bake in the oven at 375 for 1 hour.
Hints:
Roast several at a time. Pinch the soft cooked clove from its shell and store in a container in your freezer to have ready for your next recipe.
Choose large bulbs, elephant garlic works best.
Roasted garlic with meals you already love.
It’s so easy to include: just crush 1-2 cloves of garlic and stir it in.
Soups - Stir 2-3 cloves into potato soups, tomato based soups and pasta dishes.
Potatoes - Crush 1 clove per serving into mashed, fried and scalloped potato recipes.
Side dishes - Serve a whole roasted garlic bulb with pork dishes - especially pork chops. A whole roasted garlic will also compliment salad and casserole meals.
Hints:
Roasted garlic introduces a nutty flavor
Start with 1 clove per serving and adjust to your taste
Cooking with Garlic
Experimenting with garlic in my everyday cooking has me adding it to almost any dish.
Vegetables - The next time you steam your broccoli add a few cloves of garlic slivered during or after cooking and you won’t need all that salt and butter.
Stir Fry - Adding slivered, sliced or crushed garlic to any stir fry dish will only be complemented by it’s flavor.
Eggs - Add crushed to scrambled eggs, omelets, and quiches.
Roast Beef - Cut slits large enough to insert whole cloves of garlic and roast as usual.
Hints:
Cooking garlic slowly in soups, stews and roasts mellows the garlic flavor.
Take care when sautéing garlic, burning it will make it bitter.
Raw Garlic
Did we say raw? Yes, raw garlic is most effective in it’s natural form.
Try these easy and simple favourites:
Grill cheese sandwiches - thin slices spread on your cheese before grilling
Pasta garlic oil - slice garlic cloves up to 1 cup and mix with 1 cup of olive oil and cook over medium heat until soft and lightly browned - pour over pasta.
Juice - add crushed garlic to your vegetable juice.
Hummus - This chickpea spread is a tasty way to eat raw garlic, and you won’t even notice it’s raw.
Salads - Rub the side of a wooden bowl with raw garlic. When you toss the other ingredients in it your salad will have a hint of garlic.
Condiment - Some people actually eat them the same way they would eat pickles. I haven’t tried this one, yet!
Hints:
Store garlic in a cool dry place with ventilation - not in the fridge.
Avoid buying garlic with green sprouts
Enjoy in good health!

As moms, we have hectic lives. Whether we work out of the home, in the home or look after the kids full time, we definitely have our jobs cut out for us. We clean, chauffer the kids around, mend scraped knees, help with homework, do laundry and on top of all that we STILL have to figure out what we’re going to make for dinner each night.
Here are a few tips to take the pain out family meal planning:
First, choose a quiet time once a week when you have enough time to sit down and prepare your menu for the week ahead.
Look through your cupboards, fridge and freezer and make a mental note of all the food you already have in there.
Start with the food you’ll need for dinner. Plan your next weeks dinner menu around the food you already have. So for example, if you have pasta, simply add pasta sauce and ground beef to your list.
Plan as many dinner meals as you can around what you have in your kitchen already. Once you “run out” of meals then start planning new meals from scratch.
Once you have all your dinner meals then move on to breakfast. In my house this is fairly easy as my kids like to have cereal and fruit or toast and fruit (they’re not very adventurous at breakfast time!)
Once breakfast is sorted, then move on to lunch. If you have older kids who have school lunches you don’t really have much to worry about. If you have toddlers or younger children, a lot of the times they can actually have leftovers from the night before.
Lastly, add snacks, fruit, juice, milk and all those little extras we always seem to need.
Keep your weekly food shopping at that, once a week. Plan your weekly meals and do one shopping trip. If you have to keep going back and forth to the supermarket a few times a week, you can end up spending more money.
Stick your weekly menu on your fridge so all you have to do is glance at it in the mornings and take out whatever meat needs thawing and you can also make a mental note of how much time you’ll need to prepare dinner that night.
I guarantee if you take the time to do this once a week, you’ll actually save time and definitely save money. So it pays to plan ahead and be prepared.
With a little thought and planning ahead you’ll be on your way to hassle-free meal times… now if you could only get your kids to eat all their veggies!

Ingredients:
18 large strawberries with the leaves left on
8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
Directions:
1. Wash the strawberries and pat dry.
2. Cover a cookie sheet with waxed paper and set aside.
3. Place the chocolate in the top of a double boiler. Fill the bottom pan with 1-inch of water. Simmer. Melt the chocolate, stirring only once or twice until smooth.
4. Stir in the oil. Remove from the heat and cool slightly.
5. Holding the strawberry by the leaves, dip it into the warm chocolate and swirl.
6. Let the excess chocolate drip off. Place the strawberry upside down with the point in the air. This will prevent the chocolate from puddling on the wax paper.
7. Lay the strawberry on the prepared pan and straighten the leaves. Allow to cool.
Continue with the remaining strawberries.
8. Store at room temperature or in the refrigerator for no more than 24 hours. Better if made and eaten the same day. The chocolate will appear matte when refrigerated and glossy when served at room temperature.
