The land was purchased by an Irish construction and development company, called McAleer and Rushe in 2007. However, the company was not able to find financiers for the project in the current market slump.
However, McAleer and Rushe has not given up the hope of completing the project. The company as well as the locals are hoping to see the project go through, even if it is delayed as per the original timeline.
Expressing confidence in the future prospects of the project, the joint agent from Knight Frank Leeds, Mr. Gary Cooke said that the developer is now looking for tenants who are willing to book shared office space with advance deposits. He also went on to say that the office building would be a great example of excellent architecture, which will help the city in firming its position in the commercial business market of the UK.
